: I recently moved in with my girlfriend and she has a twelve year old toy poodle. He has a habit of urinating inside on table legs, boxes, golf bags, etc. He usually doesn't do it when we are around. He is trained to go outside, but seems to do this at night when we are sleping. Any suggestions? Also, he has a, shall I say, overactive libido. He has never been fixed.
At twelve years of age, it is possible that he is not able to hold it all night, just like a young puppy can't hold it all night and neither should be expected to hold it all night. He should definitely be crated at night. Also, consider taking him to the veterinarian to make sure that he doesn't have a bladder infection.
