I have a problem with the local zoning board. They sent me a letter saying that I have two vehicles that they claim in their letter are both 'junk' (how's that for summary injustice)and unregistered and in order to comply with the zoning ordinance, one must be removed or fines, etc. ad naseum. My belief is 1. that these laws must be unconstitutional at best, 2. that, if as in this case they are not uniformly enforced then they are not enforcable at all, 3. that, if a person states that the cars are operable (both have been driven within the last four months and are not junk 'if this is true' as agreed with the enforcer), then the person's word should be adequate and said person (me) should not be forced to 'demonstrate that the cars are in working order'. However, I do not know how to proceed and thwart their enforcement attempts legally. I would welcome any advice concerning this. How can I file injunctions, stop the levying of fines, call the laws before a higher court, etc. without incurring large financial burdens? I am a disabled vet. I moved to this very rural county onto a gravel road to be in a rural, peaceful environment, bought land, pay taxes, etc. Will anyone help me?
