I am actually not Englishman, not American, I am Estonian,(if you know such a country, it's in North Europe, near Finland) and I am the expert of Goethe and Schiller.
My translation for "Selige Sehnsucht" is here:

And so long you won't it quest,
This: Die and dare rebirth!
You remain a dreary guest
On the black and gloomy earth.

Original was:

Und so lang du das nicht hast,
Dieses: Stirb und werde!
Bist du nur ein trüber Gast
Auf der dunklen Erde.
