"All the born-again Christian is saying is that he has accepted the gift that God is freely offering to everyone."
Very true. However, wouldn't it be more humble to say, "I HOPE I've accepted the gift that God is freely offering"?
Also, the American fundamentalist bias against "tradition" is just silly. The fundamentalist idea is "sola scriptura", that is, the "born again" interprets God's word directly from the Bible with the help of the Holy Spirit. The problem with this is that it just isn't the case. Obviously, the fundamentalist interpret accoring to the tenets of their Churches and elders.
My point about school tax vouchers is that basically the public is paying for private schools thus supported. I have nothing against parents sending their kids to private schools, but if I'm going to pay for a school, I want some say-so about the cirriculum.
I agree that American schools have been anti-religion in recent court cases, but I can't see where these cases have really harmed religion, religious people, or the cause of public education.
