I suppose that it is possible that you are right
and I will be the first to admit that I am no judge
of things, but... Doesn't it seem to you that
Yossarian's behavior is rather more like a crazed,
loony, senseless cry for help in the mist of
insanity forced upon him by the war he is
participating in. A desire to escape is foremost
in his mind, and perhaps if the desire could have
been satisfied a more normal (If Yossarian could
have achieved that) lifestyle would have emerged
from the broken remains of his military career.
