: Hebrews 11 vs 1-3 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders received witness. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." Romans 10 vs 17 "So,then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Matthew 17 vs 20 "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Move from here to yonder place; and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."
: We know what faith is according to Hebrews.
: We know how to obtain faith according to Romans.
: We are told what faith can do by our Lord in Matthew.
: We are told that through faith we receive the grace of God for salvation. Ephesians 2 vs 8-9
: Hebrews 11 vs 6 tells us we need faith to please God.
: Webster defines faith as unquestioning belief, loyalty.
: To trust Jesus Christ we must have faith that he will do what he promises. We must have confidence that Jesus Christ is able to do what he promises.
: Saving faith is unquestioning belief that Jesus Christ as Jehovah God died for man the creature's sin, paying the awfull penalty that man the creature could not pay, having faith that Jesus Christ rose from the tomb on the third day and ascended into heaven and is ever living to be our advocate with the Father. It is by faith we (born again believers) stand in the righteouness of Jesus Christ before Almighty God in heavenly places.
: Faith to live by is in Galatians 3 vs 11 "...the just shall live by faith." Our living faith is trust in Almighty God Jesus Christ to never leave or forsake us and to meet our needs according to His will and for His glory.
: I rejoice that the promises of God cannot fail. In all that God has promised He is faithful toward me and will perform. I have confidence in the finished work of Almighty God and trust His promises to be secure. All this I have received by the mercy of God through the grace of God as revealed in the word of God and evidenced in Jesus Christ and His bodily resurrection from the tomb.
