Yes it's true, I recommend this book as a balanced, well written look at cosmology for the average guy. I was unaware of David Bohm's views on anything but the quantum effects described in Mr. Ferris' book, but I can see how some impressionable people could "take up the 'call'", as it were. As with all great thinkers, some of his ideas can perhaps be made into something they are not intended to be.
I own and operate a small observatory in SW AZ where I educate the public and do variable star research.
