Hi. Sorry it took so long to respond. I don't check this site as often as I used to since the "new" board came out.

http://killdevilhill.com/astronomychat/wwwboard.html

Anyway, the scope you mention is not of the best quality, although some nice views of the moon, planets such as Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and Mercury may be had, along with some of the brighter deep sky objects. To answer your question, the lower the number on the eyepiece, the higher the magnification obtained. If you divide the focal length of the telescope by the number on the ep, you can calculate the magnification.
Since you know the main lens is 60mm, there may be another number in mm somewhere on the scope. Probably something like 360mm or 540mm or something. There may also be the focal ratio, which would be in the form F/6 or something similar. If the former is the case, divide the 360mm by the ep to get magnification. If the latter is the case, multiply the number after the F by the 60mm, then divide _that_ number by the ep to get mag. Simple, right? :-)
If you have any more questions, feel free to post to the new board, or you can email me at the addy above, just leave off the "x". Ok? I hope this helps.

I own and operate a small observatory in SW AZ where I educate the public and do variable star research.
