: : : Has anyone heard of a band called Negativeland? Someone gave me a tape of them and told me it was supposed to be a light aircraft travelling over America picking up local radio signals. There's a great thing on guns and a hilarious piece with Ted Coppell saying the word "eleven" repeatedly.
: : : I heard they had a spat with U2 and were banned from playing live, so they beamed in their performances to an empty stage. Anyway, I really like them and that's all I know about them and would like to get hold of more or find out more about them if possible. Nobody in England has ever heard of them. Anybody?
: : : I'm also a huge Primus fan, but am I alone in thinking they're treading water at the moment? Such a shame, as Les is a genius.
: : There are lots of Negativeland CD's available, and yes they got into a HUGE spat with U2, check out their album "Pipdses" All about Pepsi cola, it's worth the effort.
: I highly recommend their album "Escape From Noise", or any of their "Over The Edge" double CD sets. You can hear their radio show on the internet if you have the Earth Tuner program. They broadcast out of U.C. Berkley. If you have a copy of U2, it is very rare and out of print. Hold on to it!
Hi, i also love Negativeland, and have been spreading the word for a year or so now. If your jonzin for Primus, I would suggest trying to find a cd Called Riddles are abound tonight, by Sausage. Its from 94, and the members areLes claypool, b,vox, Jay Lane, drums Todd Huth, guitar, vox
it was a little known almost solo album that really rocks if you like primus, or the melvins for that matter :)
Rock!
