there is marketing competition and there is
product quality competition. can most consumers
evaluate the quality of hi-tech products. if one
amplifier produce 0.001% distortion and another
produced 0.0001% is the second one better? i saw
an ad for the second amp, but i know a speaker is
going to produce more than 0.2% distortion so
the distortion produced by both amplifiers is
inaudible. if there is any audible difference in
the amps it is not the distortion. the marketing
people know they are selling to techno-idiots.
the invisible hand has been cut off by a laser
beam, it is obsolete.
